A major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County in China’s Sichuan Province at 2:28 p.m. on May 12. The disaster touched the hearts of millions of Chinese people and the staff of Yeland Group.
After the disaster, the company convened a special meeting on providing assistance to the disaster area, and made a decisionthat Yeland Group would provide RMB 1 million to the earthquake-stricken area for the reconstruction of the primary schools through Beijing Youth Development Foundation. Early in the morning, employees of Yeland Group launched a charity activity of Heart Tied in Earthquake-stricken Area, and the initiative began to spread rapidly from headquarter of the Group to its branch companies in cities like Suzhou, Dalian, etc.. Nearly RMB 200,000 was donated in less than one day. Moreover, the company’s related departments also telephoned all the staff members from Chongqing Municipality and Sichuan Province overnight to express sympathy to them for their losses caused by the disaster.
Meanwhile, the company played an active role as a responsible value creator in our harmonious society, and made every effort to maximize the effect on supporting the disaster relief in action. Yeland set up donation points in the major communities and sales offices in Beijing and Suzhou to accept the monetary donation or donation in kind from apartment owners or other charitable people, and quickly transferred the donations to local authorities so that they could be sent as soon as possible to the disaster area for relief and reconstruction.
